Box
Kite-shaped seal box. This decoratively enamalled seal box was used to secure documents or personal letters. A cord was wrapped around the document and through the holes in the back of the box; this was then filled with wax in order to secure the cord. The wax was then stamped with the senders personal seal. This ensured that official or private documents were not read before they were received by the correct recipient.
